*NIXANZ Snail Mail

Snail Mail is an envelope addressing and printing application which interacts directly with the Address Book database in Mac OS X 10.2 or higher. It's primary function is to quickly address and print single or multiple envelopes based on entries in the Mac OS X Address Book database. Batches of envelopes can be based on Address Book groups, or ad-hoc lists selections of addresses. Snail Mail can print barcodes for more efficient mail handling.

Snail Mail can also be used to print address lists which the Address Book cannot do in Mac OS X 10.2.x.

There are already several envelope applications available for Mac OS X, but I wrote this one when I found that none suited my needs.

Macworld (USA edition) Reviewed Snail Mail as one of the 75 best low-cost programs for the Mac and gave it a 4 mouse rating. On the same page, in a review of a competing product MacWorld says, "If you have a large mailing list, use Snail Mail ... instead".

Licensing - UNDER-Ware

I've developed a software license that I think is about as agreeable as you can get. It is called "UNDER-Ware" (User Now Defines Entity Restrictions). Please read the full license agreement which came with the original distribution (link below) before using or distributing this software.

Why a License for FREE Software?

Please be assured that there is no plan to make Snail Mail a commercial product or even Shareware. Ever. Snail Mail will remain UNDER-Ware and will be available for free with no features crippled for unlicensed use indefinitely.

The license registration process was introduced for Snail Mail, because some users really do appreciate the work that has gone into the product, and have decided to contribute, according to the UNDER-Ware license. The registration process is in place merely so that those users get some feedback after having paid, without crippling features for the other users.

Registered users also receive emails about new releases.
