Settings can be locked so that users are prevented from altering settings and/or prevented from altering configuration of online map services in the Layers Library.  With these options enabled, a password is required to change settings.

This feature can be combined with ‘Share Settings’ feature (below) to assist an organisation to distribute required settings to all users and then use the Lock Settings to prevent the users from overriding those settings.

Set or Change Passcode

  • Tap the passcode button (bottom toolbar)

  • If a passcode is already set, enter it in the Old Passcode field
  • Enter the new passcode in the New Passcode field
  • Enter the new passcode again in the Confirm Passcode field
  • Tap ‘OK’

Enable/Disable Access to Lock/Unlock Settings

Enabling access to the lock settings on this view will only last until the view is dismissed.  Access will need to be re-enabled again next time the view is displayed.  The padlock symbol in the bottom toolbar indicates if the Lock/Unlock settings are currently accessible (unlocked padlock) or not (locked padlock).

Enable access to the Lock/Unlock Settings:

  • Tap the locked button (bottom toolbar)

  • Enter the passcode
  • Tap ‘OK’

Alternatively, changing the passcode (see above) or using any of the Lock/Unlock switches will automatically request the current passcode and then enable access to all the Lock/Unlock switches if successful.

Disable access to the Lock/Unlock Settings:

  • Tap the unlocked button (bottom toolbar)

Lock/Unlock General Settings

Turning on this option means that the passcode will be required to access settings views (except for the Lock/Unlock Settings and Diagnostics Settings).

  • Tap the ‘Lock Settings’ switch
    • If access to the Lock/Unlock settings is not currently enabled, enter the passcode to enable access when prompted

Lock/Unlock Online Map Services

Turning on this options means that the passcode will be required to add, modify or delete online map services in the Layers Library.

  • Tap the ‘Lock Online Map Services’ switch
    • If access to the Lock/Unlock settings is not currently enabled, enter the passcode to enable access when prompted

Lock/Unlock Offline Datastores

Turning on this options means that the passcode will be required to add, modify or delete offline datastores in the Layers Library.

NB:  It does not prevent management of offline datastores by other means.

  • Tap the ‘Lock Offline Datastores’ switch
    • If access to the Lock/Unlock settings is not currently enabled, enter the passcode to enable access when prompted
